Emily Whitney, 16, is a rising senior at State College Area High School in State College, Pennsylvania.
She is involved in multiple activities such as art club, National Honor Society and crew team.
This fall, Emily will be the editor-in-chief of her high school’s yearbook staff; she previously served as a portraits section editor and an assistant editor-in-chief. Emily enjoys the various design elements that are involved in the yearbook and getting to better know her classmates through interviews.
In her free time, Emily collects CDs, listens to SZA and lifeguards at her local pool. She applied to TCU Schieffer Summer Journalism Camp to learn about the different styles of writing, and to decide if she wanted to pursue journalism in the future.
