Emma Santos, 17, is a rising senior at Flower Mound High School in Flower Mound, Texas. She is involved in numerous activities such as historian for her drill team, The Rosettes. In the fall, she will be the co-editor of her school’s newspaper “The Wire.” In her spare time she loves to bake treats like cookies and bread. She said she also likes to “break a sweat” at the gym.
Post graduation, she said she is hoping to major in Strategic Communication at Texas Christian University. She said she admires TCU for its “happy” environment, amazing communication program and how close the school is to her family and friends.
Emma is thrilled to be a part of the 2024 Schieffer Journalism program to help “prepare herself” for her role as co-editor this fall and to improve her writing and leadership skills.
