Jennifer Chen, 16, is a rising senior at Pine Tree High School in Longview, Texas.

She’s undecided on what she would like her major to be, but said she is attending the Schieffer journalism camp at TCU to improve her writing skills and see what other career opportunities there are in communication. She is a member of the National Honor Society.

Her hobbies include tennis, reading, drinking boba, sleeping and playing the piano. She has played mixed doubles since her freshman year. She competes every week once the season starts.

She said she reads to relax and that she especially enjoys fantasy. She has played piano for years. Her favorite ice cream flavors are cookies and cream, but she also loves Italian frozen yogurt. She said she would love to travel to Singapore because she loves the culture and the food. Her favorite animals are cats because they are so fluffy and cute and her favorite food is lasagna.
