Michelle Barron, 17, is a rising senior at Jacksboro High School in Jacksboro, Texas.

Michelle wants to pursue a career in journalism and be either a sports broadcaster or a social media journalist. At the TCU Schieffer Summer Journalism Camp she hopes to understand whether journalism is the right decision for her and whether she wants to pursue journalism in the future. She also wants to meet new people and experience life at TCU.

Michele volunteers at Meals on wheels, teaches ESL to kids at middle school, is a reader at a local church and a member of the Spanish club at her school. She is president of the Family Career Community Leaders of America and went to nationals in San Diego. She also has been in Future Farmers of America. She runs on her school’s cross country and track team. She has a personal record of 13:11 for the 2-mile in cross country. She also runs with her two sisters, Frida and Sky. She has also played on her school’s volleyball and softball teams.
