Miranda Garica,  17, of  Fort Worth, is a rising senior at the Young Women Leadership Academy. 

Miranda is a creative director for her graphic design team and the president of the Spanish honors society. As the creative director of the graphic design team, she reviews all ideas and she decides if they should move forward. As the president of the Spanish honors society she speaks with the teachers and students for event ideas. 

She also likes to play guitar, the bass and the piano and likes to play soccer. 

Miranda thought hard about why she chose journalism as an option for a future employment option and why Schieffer journalism camp then said “ I wanted to learn how to write better and if I could work as a journalist and what type of job would fit me best.”

 She said she would like to pursue a career as a political journalist or a diplomat.
