Kyra Howell, 18, of Houston, Texas, is a rising senior at Memorial High School. She is involved in the National Honor Society and Racing for Wellness. Kyra said, “being an honor roll student has given me pride in working hard and to make the most of every opportunity”

Outside of the classroom Kyra has many activities and hobbies. She grew up loving sports. She played soccer for the Albion Hurricanes for most of her life. She is also part of the Memorial soccer program. She said soccer is where she gets her determination and dedication to anything in life. 

Kyra also loves her friends and spending quality time playing pickleball with them alongside her family Kyra’s favorite restaurant is Cabo Bobs, “I go there five times a week and it’s only open six.” 

She is attending the TCU Bob Schieffer Journalism Camp to learn about broadcasting in the real world. She is excited to get outside perspectives on how others produce stories. Along with having the opportunity to meet people with similar interests as her.
